Safety Alert – Finger Crush Injury
INCIDENT:
A fixed plant maintenance employee was attempting to remove discarded metal pipes at the metal waste bin located outside the workshop for an unplanned task. Whilst removing the discarded metals, other materials not secured had shifted, whereby a metal plate dislodged and fell onto his left hand, causing a crush to his small finger and laceration to his ring finger as his left hand was wedged in between the two metal plates.
