Safety Alert – Finger Crushed Injury
INCIDENT:
A contractor employee engaged in maintenance of the lime kiln was removing the outer bricks to repair the internal liners of the lime kiln shell. Whilst in the process, he placed his finger in the line of fire and got jammed when a pile of bricks dislodged and fell onto his left-hand fingers, resulted in crushed injury to his left-hand ring finger.
