GEOSCIENCE FOR HUMANITY

Applying geoscience to improving community living standards

Aimed at improving the country’s social indicators, the Mineral Resources Authority, through the Geological Survey Division, conducts activities that are geared towards improving the standard of living for our communities. Our projects include groundwater investigations to improve water supply availability or as a climate change adaptation measure. We are also involved in identifying aggregates, limestone deposits, and clay minerals for infrastructure development and other applications in our communities. We also carry out urban geology mapping to help with the planning of towns and urban developments. We also partner with other agencies to promote our geology as a tourism attraction.
