MRA receives a delegation from Botswana

The Mineral Resources Authority (MRA) on Friday March 22, 2024, played host to a delegation from the Department of Mines of the Southern African country of Botswana.

The MRA Managing Director Jerry Garry, welcomed the delegation and presented an overview of PNG’s mining industry and the MRA and its functions.

The delegation comprised of the Director of Mines Ofentse Ditsele, the Principal Mining Surveyor Kabelo Ogaketse, the Principal Geo-Information Officer Pelonomi Matlotse, and Geologist Ndiwo Lesetedi.

The group visited MRA to see, learn and get information about our tenements management system, with the view of using the same system in their department. The delegation also visited the MRA’s Mineral Production Data Hub and the core-shed.
