MRA launches annual report and Repository Hub
The Mineral Resources Authority and its board yesterday celebrated a series of milestones.
These are the presentation of MRA’S 2020 financial annual report by the board Chairman Mr Benny Kimisive, to the Mining Minister Hon Johnson Tuke. This is a signicant milestone achieved by MRA as it signifies that MRA is fully compliant with the Public Finance Management Act
The MRA also launched what is known as the Central Monitoring & Respository Hub. This is a system which will allow MRA to have visibility on mineral production data through live video feed direct from mining companies’ processing plants to MRA operations center. In this way, MRA is able to verify the amount of mineral that is shipped/exported unlike in the past where, companies would normally fill in a form to state the amount of mineral they are exporting.
The MRA and the Department of Mineral Policy & Geohazards Management also farewelled the Mining Minister Hon Johnson Tuke as he prepares for the coming elections.
The Minister presented a Mining License to Lole Mining which is going to be the new operator for the Tolukuma project…
