Newmont Sponsors GEE 2024 Conference

PORT MORESBY: Newmont Corporation yesterday, announced a Bronze category sponsorship of the Geoscience, Exploration & Extraction Conference (GEE) 2024, which will be held on August 7-9.

Newmont’s Country Manager Stanley Komunt, announced the sponsorship in a small ceremony at the Mining Haus, where he presented a dummy cheque to the Managing Director of the Mineral Resources Authority (MRA) Jerry Garry, who is also the Patron of the conference.

Mr Komunt said during the presentation that as one of the major players in the PNG Mining Industry, the company was pleased to support the conference. He said the GEE 2024 conference was a significant event that would contribute towards the development of the mining sector and the country at large, through information sharing. He said the conference was an important occasion that enabled important discussions, adding that Newmont was looking forward to continuing its partnership into the future.
